Civic issues
Topics getting the most attention in Encinitas public meetings, ranked by how frequently they come up.
Public Art Integration in Quail Gardens Park
A resident criticized the committee's description of the future Quail Gardens park, saying it ignored three community meetings already held. A pump track was the second most-requested feature in public input, and the site is east of the freeway where the committee wants more amenities.
Public Art Installations: Sculpture Loan Program and Skate Park Mural
Exposure Skate owns a portable pro-level vert ramp that sits in storage most of the year. The committee wants the city to lease it for roughly $50,000 a year and rotate it through city locations, giving Encinitas its first public vert ramp and Olympic marketing buzz.
Skate urbanism and the Power Alley corridor
Instead of one big skate park, the committee is exploring small skate features woven into existing parks plus a connected skate/transport route under the power lines from east Encinitas toward the coast. It's framed as a 10-year vision tied to the city's skate, surf and mountain-bike culture.
